About
About Scott Zack
Owner of Creek Equity. Investor and entrepreneur in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Scott Zack builds and buys companies in Michigan, and he has been doing it for more than two decades.
Scott is the owner of Creek Equity, a private investment company based in Bloomfield Hills. Creek Equity does three things: it starts new companies, it funds founders at an early stage, and it buys established businesses that have room to grow.
The company invests its own capital. It does not manage a fund for outside investors, so it has no deadline to sell. Scott prefers to own good businesses for a long time.
Background
An operator before an investor
Scott learned business by running businesses. He has hired first employees, signed leases, and made payroll in slow months. That experience shapes how he looks at every company today.
When he studies a business, he asks practical questions. Who are the customers and why do they stay? Who on the team actually makes things work? Where does the cash go between the sale and the bank deposit?
He works directly with the people who lead each company. He would rather know a few businesses in detail than own a small piece of many he cannot follow.
Industries
Where he has worked
Creek Equity's companies cover several industries. What they share is a clear customer need and a team that can be trusted.
Michigan
Home
Scott lives in the Bloomfield Hills area and does most of his work in Michigan. He believes the state has more good businesses and capable operators than it has patient capital, and he wants to help close that gap.
He played basketball at Ohio State and writes about building and buying companies.
